SVEN ANDERSON and his wife, Anna Mathilda, born Johanneson, were among the first Swedes who settled as farmers in Williamson County, Texas. They were both born in Barkeryd parish, Småland, Anderson, in 1827, and Mrs. Anderson, in 1836 and immigrated to the United States, and Chicago in 1869. They came to Round Rock, Texas, in 1870. He leased land from Anders Palm for the first years. He then leased from Newlin and Nelson. In 1878 he bought land in Hutto, and he later got additional land. In his later years, he stopped farming and moved to Round Rock, where they lived until his death. Mrs. Anderson died in 1907 and Mr. Anderson in 1910.
They have the following children who were born in Sweden: Anna, Carl, August, and Ida; Johannes, Delia and Esther were born in Texas; Augusta, Ida, Esther and Edla have died. Married children are: Anna, to J. E. Gustafson in Round Rock, Carl, to Rebecka Larson in Georgetown, Johannes - Pastor J. Alfred Anderson - to Hildur Carlberg, and Delia, to James Carlson in Round Rock.
They are pioneers in Round Rock and charter members of the Lutheran Congregation there. This family has been a great blessing to both the church and community.
