L. E. LARSON. It is rare that a family returns to Sweden and stays there, after having lived in this country for many years. This is the case, however, with L. E. Larson and family, who returned and settled in Knista, Närke, after 25 years in this country. Larson was born there in 1857 and worked in the countryside while he was growing up. He was a coachman in Stockholm when he left his home-country and set out for the land in the west. In 1888, he came to Round Rock, Texas, and he soon started farming. He leased land in Gregg, Travis County, and by Round Rock. He later bought a beautiful farm property in Delvalle near Austin, and lived there for ten years until he moved to Sweden in 1910. The property is now taken care of by his sons, Alex and Gabriel.
Larson married Hanna Brogren in 1885. She was born in Värmland, but was raised in Johannestorp in Närke. She came to America with her husband and the eldest son. Their children are: Alex, born in 1887; Gabriel, 1895; Mabel, 1898; Emanuel, 1901; and Ethel, 1903. One daughter is dead. The Larsons were members of the Swedish Baptist Church. Their son, Gabriel E. Larson was born in Gregg, Travis County, and he went to Sweden with his parents. After a year and a half, he came back to Texas and with his brother, he started farming on his father’s farm in Delvalle. At an early age he learned to work and to value the land. He is therefore a good farmer, diligent and economical.
